Vinton Area Residual of TZZ calculated from upward continued gravity survey |
Vinton Area Residual of TZZ measured by Air-FTG® |
| The above figure represents the first vertical derivative of a ground gravity survey run over a salt dome in Vinton, LA. The data has been upward continued and had a linear trend removed to allow comparison to Air-FTG® data. Note particularly the data missed from the ground gravity where coverage was sparse (stations are shown as small black dots) | The above figure represents the vertical gravity gradient Tzz as measured by Air-FTG® on a survey run over the same salt dome in Vinton, La. The data has a linear trend removed to allow comparison to ground gravity. Note the similarity in overall shape with the extra resolution afforded by Air-FTG®. |

Vinton Area Tzz data inlines profiles from Air-FTG® survey |
Vinton Area Tzz data crossties profiles from Air-FTG® survey |
| The extra resolution provided by Air-FTG® is not just noise. View the line profile maps above and notice how features are present line to line and also in cross lines. The survey was run as an interlace pattern so adjacent lines and cross lines were acquired on different days. | |
